The Community Committee is in preparation for the upcoming Academy for Success to be held in Robbins, NC Spring 2011.  More info to come.

The next meeting will be held Wednesday, October 6th - 6:30PM at Tiffany Abbey’s house.  All are welcomed to attend.

For interested members, the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk sponsored by St. Joseph of the Pines is being held on September 19.  This is a fundraiser walk and ride (for those with motorcycles). The walk starts at the Southern Pines Park (registration 9:00 am, walk 10:00). The ride starts at Pine Knoll (Hwy 22) (registration 10:00 am, ride 11:00).

Our 2009 event will be held at Elliotts on Linden in Pinehurst, NC, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

In addition to the wonderful wine and food, you’ll enjoy a silent auction, raffles, and cooking demonstrations.

Tickets are $25 (in advance) and can be purchased through any of the following:

  • A Junior League member
  • Elliotts on Linden, 905 Linden Road, Pinehurst
  • Weichert, Realtors-LaRose & Company, 190 Turner St., Suite D, Southern Pines

Members are encouraged to bring donation items to each general membership meeting to benefit the Food Bank and families of troops. This way, we can provide donations all year long! Suggestions include:

  • Infant items (diapers, wipes, formula, bottles, socks, onsies, hats, pacifiers, receiving blankets, burp cloths, infant toys, wash cloths/bath products, baby medicines, diaper rash cream, etc.)
  • Canned, boxed, dried, or liquid foods
  • Children’s items (clothes, shoes, toys, books, coats, jackets, sports equipment, etc.)
  • Household goods (bathroom items, cleaning supplies, etc.)

Autumn LeavesAs fall approaches in the North Carolina Sandhills, and we begin another exciting year of activities and community programs, we are excited to get our site up to help everyone be better informed of what’s happening with the League. Be sure to check in with us on our upcoming events!

There is a Community Committee Meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 7:00 pm at Lisa’s home (see directions on Community page in Members section).  We’ll be firming up many of the plans for the Academy for Success which is coming up very soon – October 10th! Thanks everyone!

temecula-wine-toursIt’s time for our annual Junior League Active/Sustainer/Provisional Social! It’s being held September 18 starting at 7:00 pm. Please come and enjoy an evening of fun with your fellow Junior League members. Spouses and significant others are welcome! Everyone will be responsible for an appetizer and choice of beverage.
